RAJOURI: In a resolute stride towards meticulous forest management, the West Circle Rajouri, is accelerating demarcation efforts across forest divisions. Under the vigilant direction of CF Sandeep Kumar, the West circle has initiated daily progress reporting, ensuring a comprehensive data compilation to track  advancement of demarcation activities.

To bolster accuracy and efficiency, the Forest Department is deploying cutting-edge technology, including ArcGIS and Erdas Imagine, reflecting a dedication to modern methodologies. The utilization of such state-of-the-art tools not only enhances precision but also underscores the Department’s proactive stance towards responsible forest management and conservation.

An outstanding achievement of surveying 65,000 Boundary Pillars (BPs) by the West Circle exemplifies the unwavering commitment to safeguarding natural resources. This milestone reflects the Department’s steadfast dedication to preserving forests for the benefit of future generations.

Furthermore, Divisional Forest Officer Nowshera, Shweta Deonia has reported that the division has 68 forests having about 10400 BPs out of which 37 forests with 5000 BPs has already been demarcated and rest of the survey is in progress with state of the art cutting edge technology like Remote Sensing and GIS with the technical expertise of  Dr. Rakesh Verma, a distinguished Remote Sensing and GIS expert of J&K Forest Department.

 Dr. Verma’s expertise will facilitate the creation of spatial layers for the division, ensuring meticulous demarcation guided by contemporary methodologies. CF West Circle has mandated Dr. Verma to extend this initiative across the entire circle, underscoring a collaborative approach aimed at benefiting all Divisional Forest Officers and furthering the Department’s commitment to precision demarcation and conservation.
