SRINAGAR: Cracking a whip on illegal mining of minerals at Wagoora & Delina Baramulla, Police seized four tractors and arrested their drivers. The Police initiated the action under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Baramulla, SDPO Kreeri assisted by IC PP Delina & IC PP Wagoora.
The drivers have been identified as Showkat Ahmad Bhat son of Gh Mohammad resident Palpora Palhallan, Mohammad Umar Chopan son of Mohd Sultan resident of Mirangund, Shabir Ahmad Bhat son of Gh Rasool resident of Wagoora & Khurshid Ahmad Dar son of Gh Nabi resident of Delina Ghat.
The drivers alongwith their vehicles were found involved in illegal extraction/ transportation of minerals and accordingly cases under relevant sections of law have been registered in Police Station Kreeri & PS Baramulla and investigations have been taken up.
