BARAMULLA: In view of the General Elections to Lok Sabha, the District Election Officer (DEO) Baramulla, Minga Sherpa today conducted a comprehensive inspection of various polling stations within the sub-division Uri.

The purpose of the visit was to ensure that all polling stations have Assured Minimum Facilities (AMF) as per the ECI guidelines. The DEO conducted a thorough assessment of infrastructure and amenities at each location to ensure a seamless and efficient voting experience for voters.

During the visit, the DEO inspected several polling stations in the border villages and conducted a comprehensive assessment of various essential aspects such as availability of ramps, sanitation facilities, provision of drinking water, and electricity supply—all of which fall under the Assured Minimum Facilities (AMFs), to be provided to the poll parties as per the ECI guidelines.

To foster a conducive environment for conducting free, fair, and transparent elections, the DEO emphasized the importance of providing adequate facilities to both voters and the polling staff.

Meanwhile, Minga Sherpa praised the dedication and efforts of all the stakeholders involved in the preparations and urged for continued cooperation to guarantee the success of the electoral process.

Furthermore, the DEO visited and assessed the arrangements at the Distribution Center in Uri, where from the poll parties and election materials would be distributed to the individual polling stations of the assembly constituency during the Lok Sabha Elections. The DEO was accompanied by ARO 9-Uri Assembly Segment, Javid Ahmad Rather and other Officers during the visit.
