SRINAGAR: Jammu Kashmir Hotel And Restaurant Association (JKHARA) President, Babar Chowdhary, today expressed deep appreciation for the resilience and hospitality shown by the people of Kashmir during the ongoing heavy snowfall, which has disrupted daily life across the region.In a statement issued here, Babar Chowdhary acknowledged the extraordinary efforts of the local residents, who have gone above and beyond to assist stranded tourists from different parts of the country.
Despite the challenges posed by the inclement weather, including disruptions to water and electricity supplies, the people of Kashmir have continued to embody the region's age-old spirit of hospitality.“It is heartening to witness that Kashmir's long-standing tradition of hospitality is alive and thriving,” said Babar. “In the face of these challenging conditions, locals have opened their homes and Masjids to provide shelter, food, and warmth to those in need. The people of Kashmir have truly made the region proud once again with their generosity.
”Chowdhary further highlighted the numerous videos and pictures circulating on social media, which show local residents and Masjid committees stepping up to help stranded tourists. “These extraordinary gestures are a testament to the strength and compassion of the Kashmiri people. No matter the circumstances, Kashmir will always honor its rich heritage of helping strangers in their time of need,” he added.
Babar Chowdhary also urged the local administration to prioritize the clearance of snow on vital roads, especially those leading to hotels, hospitals, and other essential services.
