UDHAMPUR: Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Saloni Rai today chaired a meeting with officers of line departments to review the implementation of Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan in the district.
During the deliberations, key proposals were discussed for the 8 designated tribal villages in the district. These included the establishment of a marketing unit to enhance economic opportunities for tribals, setting up of a multipurpose community hall, promotion of home stays for tourism purposes, improvement of education and health infrastructure, and the establishment of Common Service Centers to facilitate digital accessibility and e-governance services.
The DC directed the concerned departments to prepare detailed project proposals and ensure seamless execution of initiatives under the Abhiyan. She emphasized the need for convergence among departments to maximize the impact of developmental interventions for the tribal population.
The meeting was attended by PO Poshan, Subash Dogra, Chief Planning Officer Mohammad Iqbal, Assistant Commissioner Development Dr. Ranjit Singh Kotwal, SDMs and other concerned officers of Line Departments.
