Indian Chamber of Commerce Jammu strongly condemns terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam

• Extends full support to J&K UT Administration and Home Ministry

JAMMU: The Indian Chamber of Commerce Jammu unequivocally condemns the horrific and cowardly terrorist attack on innocent tourists in Pahalgam. This despicable act of violence is deeply disturbing and has shaken the conscience of the entire business fraternity across Jammu and Kashmir.

Rahul Sahai, Chairman of the Indian Chamber of Commerce Jammu, stated, “Targeting innocent tourists is a heinous and barbaric act that goes against the very spirit of Kashmiriyat and the values of peace and hospitality that define our region. We demand an immediate and thorough investigation into this attack, and the culprits must be brought to justice at the earliest.”

This attack not only claims innocent lives but also threatens the region’s fragile tourism industry, a key pillar of economic growth and livelihood in Jammu and Kashmir. The Indian Chamber of Commerce urges the government to take strict and swift measures to ensure the safety of all tourists and local residents.

The Indian Chamber of Commerce Jammu also expresses its full solidarity with the Jammu and Kashmir UT Administration, the Ministry of Home Affairs, and the Lieutenant Governor’s administration in these testing times. The entire trade and industry community of Jammu stands shoulder to shoulder with the government and security forces, offering every possible support to maintain peace, restore public confidence, and defeat the forces of terror.

As a gesture of protest and in solidarity with the victims and their families, we support any peaceful measures initiated by the business community, including a complete shutdown if needed again , to send a clear message that such acts of terror will never be accepted or tolerated.
