JAMMU: Today, I stand humbled and deeply moved by the extraordinary generosity and unity you have shown in a time of unexpected crisis. Last evening, due to a sudden cloudburst in Ramban, the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway was rendered impassable, forcing all northbound traffic to be diverted through the Mughal Road. The sheer volume of vehicles overwhelmed that route, leaving dozens of families and tourists from every corner of India stranded and anxious in our district.

In that moment of uncertainty, you, our wonderful people of Rajouri opened your hearts and your homes. Across the town and countryside, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad office, Bajrang Dal Office, various mandir committee halls and the Old Jamia Masjid swung open their doors. Strangers became guests; guests became friends. Hot meals were served at dawn, spare beds were readied without hesitation, and soothing words of comfort went out to worried mothers, fathers, and children far from home.

This outpouring of kindness—across religious and social lines—reminds us that the true spirit of Bharat lies not in stone walls or political slogans, but in simple acts of compassion. Whether you offered a place to rest, a cup of chai by a flickering candle, or just a reassuring smile, you showed that when we stand together as one, no storm—literal or figurative—can overwhelm our resolve.

On behalf of the BJP District Organization, and especially from my heart as District President, I extend my profound gratitude to every volunteer, committee member, youth worker, shopkeeper, and family who played a part in this beautiful gesture. You have set an example for our nation: that in Rajouri, hospitality and harmony are not just words, but living practice.

May the tourists we sheltered carry the warmth of your welcome with them wherever they go. May this episode inspire us all to keep building bridges of understanding, kindness, and solidarity today, tomorrow, and always.
