JAMMU: The Synergetic Green Warriors Foundation (SGWF) marked Green Karwa Chauth by promoting environmental responsibility through their ongoing 'Adopt a Tree' campaign. As part of this initiative, participating women were gifted fruit-bearing trees, reinforcing the importance of merging cultural traditions with the message of environmental conservation.

Dr. Sonia Verma, Director/CEO of SGWF, delivered a keynote address emphasizing the importance of celebrating green festivals. She highlighted how aligning traditional celebrations like Karwa Chauth with environmental action encourages sustainable practices. Dr. Verma stressed that festivals offer a unique opportunity to contribute to nature and that adopting tree helps in protecting the environment for future generations.

She said, "By celebrating Green Karwa Chauth, we are nurturing not just our families, but also our planet. Festivals like these remind us of the sacred relationship between humans and nature, and adopting a tree is a wonderful way to show our care for both."

During the event, Makhani Verma, General Secretary of SGWF, distributed Summer Apple trees among the women and urged them to treat their adopted trees as family members. She emphasized that caring for these trees contributes directly to environmental conservation, and urged participants to make tree adoption an integral part of their lives.

She stated, "Just as we care for our family, we must care for these trees. This act will not only contribute to environmental conservation but also provide future generations with a cleaner and greener planet."

Reeta Verma, National President of SGWF, addressed the gathering, highlighting the significance of involving women in environmental conservation. She remarked that planting trees during festivals fosters a sense of responsibility toward nature, especially within families. By connecting cultural traditions with eco-friendly actions, SGWF aims to inspire women to take an active role in preserving the environment.

Reeta Verma said, "By involving women in the 'Adopt a Tree' campaign, we are empowering them to be leaders in environmental conservation. The act of planting and caring for a tree becomes a powerful symbol of nurturing life and protecting our planet."

The celebration of Green Karwa Chauth by SGWF successfully integrated cultural and environmental consciousness, inspiring participants to adopt sustainable practices. Through the 'Adopt a Tree' campaign, SGWF continues to promote environmental stewardship and emphasizes the critical role of women in driving this change.
