NEW DELHI: In a groundbreaking event, Sanskriti, Co-founder and CEO of Thinkerbell Labs, howcased the revolutionary impact of their braille learning solution, Annie, to the Hon. President of India, Shrimati Droupadi Murmu. Sanskriti was invited among 30 other female entrepreneurs leading successful startups and unicorns.
This meeting took place at Rashtrapati Bhavan as part of #ThePresidentWithThePeople event, organized by Startup India. Sanskriti, a leading female entrepreneur, emphasized the importance of literacy for every child, unveiling Annie's impact on braille literacy rates.The National Award-winning company, recognized by the Hon. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, NITI Aayog, TIME, MIT Solve, UNDP, and now the Hon, President, Shrimati Droupadi Murmu, has successfully represented India in international conferences, positioning the nation at the forefront of inclusion and accessibility.
Annieâs groundbreaking technology is Made-in-India, Made for the World and has provided quality education to over 5000 students with blindness and visual impairment through their 120+ Annie Learning centers across 20+ Indian States, reaching students across non-metro cities and aspirational districts. In partnership with the American Printing House for the Blind, Annieâs variant, Polly, has been launched in all 50 states of the US, enabling students to learn Braille on a Made-in-India technology. With global expansion on the horizon, Annie will soon launch in the UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and the UAE In her speech, Sanskriti mentioned that "176 years ago, Savitribai Phule brought a revolution in womenâs education, which has enabled the women of our time to contribute to nation building.
Just like that, investing in the education and literacy of children with visual impairment is imperative for a future where every child can grow up to contribute." Beyond education, Thinkerbell Labs envisions integrating the visually impaired community into the workforce. Their goal aligns with Nipun Bharat's FLN mission and the National Education Policy for inclusive education. With over 20 lakh blind students in India, Thinkerbell Labs strives to provide quality education for every child from this community.
