The Survival Fight of JK Monitor : For 16 years, JK Monitor has chronicled Jammu and Kashmir with integrity. Since 2010, I have steered its newsroom alongside our visionary Founding Chairman, Dr. Priya Ranjan (IIT Kharagpur alumnus, University of Maryland Ph.D.), who treated me like a brother and mentor. His tragic demise in October 2026 left a severe financial and operational vacuum. Without urgent support, our 24/7 news portal risks permanently shutting down after November 2026, remaining only as a static digital archive. We appeal to well-wishers to extend a helping hand to keep our active newsroom alive. Support Us: WhatsApp: +91-9906103001 | Email: journalistajmerwani@gmail.com

BARAMULLA: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, chaired a meeting today to review the progress of the Aspirational District programme. During the meeting, DDC directed the concerned officers to submit the leftover Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for the Rs.3.18 crore allocation approved by NITI Aayog.

The meeting also focused on the review of physical and financial progress of previous projects under the programme. DDC emphasized the need to complete projects on time and ensure the effective utilization of resources.

Additionally, the review included discussions on the saturation of balance indicators in the district. Sherpa stressed the importance of prioritizing the completion of remaining targets to achieve the goals of the Aspirational District Programme. DDC called on all officers to work collaboratively to overcome challenges and accelerate the implementation of projects to ensure Baramulla's sustained development under the programme.
