JAMMU: In a press statement today, Sunil Dimple, President of Mission Statehood Jammu and Kashmir, called on the alliance government to nominate a Jammu Dogra for the Rajya Sabha seat. Dimple emphasized that this individual should be someone who has actively struggled for the state since August 5, 2019, and has successfully united various political parties on a single platform. He criticized the scattering of these parties during the assembly elections due to vested interests.

Dimple specifically urged alliance leaders Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah to promptly nominate four members for the Rajya Sabha, highlighting that Jammu districts currently lack representation in the alliance government. He alleged that their fight is for the restoration of the Jammu Kashmir Dogra state with special status, claiming that the alliance government is compromising on critical issues with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at the center.

He questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi about why business rules should restore the Jammu Kashmir Dogra state. Dimple pointed out a contradiction where, while the Ministry of Home Affairs is drafting business rules, J&K Assembly Speaker Abdul Rahim has constituted a nine-member panel to draft separate business rules.

Dimple challenged Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to clarify which business rules will be applied: those from the Ministry of Home Affairs or those drafted by the Speaker. Additionally, he requested Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to nominate five MLAs, including two women, two Kashmiri Pandits, and one West Pakistan refugee.

He also called upon the Chief Election Commission and the Jammu Kashmir government to hold Urban Local Bodies (ULB) and Panchayat elections immediately to restore complete democracy and ensure grassroots representation.

Furthermore, Dimple demanded that NC President Dr. Farooq Abdullah stop MP Aga Rouhulla from making baseless demands regarding reservation revocation. He reiterated his call for nominating a Jammu Dogra for the Rajya Sabha seat who has been an advocate for J&K's interests since August 2019.
