POONCH: District Development Commissioner Vikas Kundal today convened a meeting here in the Conference Hall of the DC Office Complex to review the progress of Self Employment schemes viz PMEGP, REGP, (KVIB/ KIVC) and Schemes under Mission Youth in the District.
During the meeting, the DDC took an extensive case-wise review of cases sanctioned under various schemes, including Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), REGP, KVIB, and other self-employment-oriented schemes. The Officers of the concerned Departments briefed the chair about the status of coverage of beneficiaries under various self-employment schemes in the District.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the need to ensure maximum coverage of unemployed youth in the District under different self-employment generation schemes by proper handholding through awareness. He directed Officers to work in close coordination to help youth enroll under these schemes.
The meeting explicitly addressed resolving any issues related to disbursement to prevent the accumulation of pending cases, guaranteeing the smooth and rapid implementation of employment-related initiatives.
The DC emphasized the collective commitment to expedite processes and alleviate any bottlenecks in the execution of employment schemes, ensuring these opportunities reach the intended beneficiaries. In the pursuit of optimizing self-employment opportunities and enhancing the efficiency of schemes, the DC highlighted the imperative necessity to expedite case processing and eliminate procedural delays.
Furthermore, the banking institutions were directed to play a pivotal role in facilitating the expeditious clearance of pending cases, ensuring no backlog and swift processing of all applications. The imperative of conducting awareness camps to facilitate the effective implementation of beneficiary-oriented schemes at the grassroots level was also underscored.
Meanwhile the meeting also discussed awareness regarding the implementation of Mission Yuva Udhayami Vikas Abhiyan (YUVA). GM DIC Poonch, Deputy Director Employment, District Officer KVIB/KVIC, Lead District Manager (Banks), representatives of banks and other concerned officers were present.
