RAJOURI: Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Rajouri conducted a road-checking drive today on the Rajouri-Budhal Road to ensure compliance with the Motor Vehicles Act and the rules framed under it. During the drive, 21 vehicles were e-challaned for various violations, reaffirming the administrationâs commitment to road safety and rule enforcement.
In addition, a complaint regarding overcharging on the Dhangri-Dalhori Road was redressed on December 7. The enforcement team visited the Dhangri Magic Stand and issued strict instructions to operators to adhere to the seating capacity and fare structure fixed by the State Transport Authority (STA).
The ARTO Rajouri warned that any future complaints regarding overcharging would lead to strict action. Route permits of violators will be suspended for three months under Section 86 of the Motor Vehicles Act.
The ARTO's office remains vigilant to ensure that public transport services operate in compliance with the law and that passengers are not subjected to overcharging or unsafe practices. Citizens are encouraged to report any violations or grievances directly to the ARTO office for prompt action.
