REASI: The Department of Youth Services & Sports (DYSS) Reasi today organised a five-day residential trekking camp at Patnitop, with 100 students from different schools of District Reasi participating in the adventure. The trekking camp was flagged off by Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Sukhdev Singh Samyal, who praised the efforts of DYSS in promoting adventure sports and outdoor learning.
Speaking at the flag-off ceremony, the ADDC emphasized that trekking not only builds physical endurance and resilience but also fosters teamwork, leadership, and environmental awareness among students. He further highlighted that such initiatives provide a platform for youth to explore nature, develop survival skills, and appreciate different cultures by interacting with peers from diverse backgrounds.
The trekking camp is overseen by DYSSO Tarsem Singh, with experienced trek leaders and officials ensuring the safety and well-being of the participants. The students will participate in guided treks, cultural exchange activities, environmental awareness sessions, and team-building exercises, making it a holistic learning experience.
The initiative has been widely appreciated by students and parents, as it provides young participants with a unique opportunity to explore the scenic beauty of Patnitop while gaining valuable life skills. DYSS Reasi continues to remain committed to organizing such events that contribute to the overall personality development of students.
