GANDERBAL: In its continuous and determined drive against the menace of drug trafficking and substance abuse, Police in Ganderbal conducted extensive search operations at multiple locations across the district after obtaining due permission from the Hon’ble Court.
The searches were carried out in various areas including Fethepora, Wakura, Kharbagh, Khan-Mohalla, Arhama, Akhal, Preng, Shuhama, Buserbugh, Urpash, Treesa and Koundbal. The operations were aimed at cracking down on drug peddlers, tracing the networks involved in narcotics distribution, and deterring those engaged in drug-related activities.
During the search operations, teams of Ganderbal Police under the supervision of senior officers meticulously searched several premises of suspected individuals, and incriminating material of significant importance was recovered and seized on the spot for detailed analysis and further investigation. The initiative forms part of the police’s ongoing campaign to eradicate the drug menace from the district and safeguard the youth from falling prey to this social evil.
In addition to these searches, Police also utilized loudspeakers and public announcement systems across various localities to spread awareness among the masses, urging citizens—especially youth and parents—to actively cooperate with the police and to stay away from drugs. J&K Police reiterates its resolve to make the society free from drugs and ensure a safe, healthy environment for the youth.
