JAMMU: The campus of Hermann Gmeiner School, Jammu was filled with festive joy and cultural vibrancy as the school organized “Deepotsav 2025 – Diwali & Dandiya Celebration” with great enthusiasm. The event beautifully reflected the essence of Diwali — spreading light, happiness, and togetherness among all.

The celebration began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by Advocate Neha Mahajan, President BJP Mahila Morcha J&KUT, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, along with Mr. Mudassar, SDPO Domana, Principal Shakun Choudhary, and senior staff members including Raina Sir. This auspicious beginning symbolized the victory of light over darkness and wisdom over ignorance.

Adv. Neha Mahajan appreciated the efforts of the school management for organizing such a meaningful and well-coordinated celebration that promotes Indian culture, values, and traditions among students. She said that festivals like Deepotsav strengthen our cultural roots, nurture young minds with positivity and respect for traditions, and promote the spirit of unity in society — in line with the vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji’s ‘Viksit Bharat’.

The vibrant celebration featured Ramleela, Dandiya Dance, Live DJ & Entertainment with RJ Tani, Games, Fun Stalls, and Delicious Food Counters, making it a delightful day for everyone.

Principal Ms. Shakun Choudhary extended a warm welcome to all dignitaries and expressed heartfelt gratitude to Adv. Neha Mahajan and her team for gracing the occasion as Chief Guest. She remarked, “Deepotsav is not just a festival of lights, but a celebration of knowledge, compassion, and unity. We are proud of our students who displayed immense talent and enthusiasm.”

The event not only showcased the festive grandeur of Diwali but also reflected the school’s commitment towards holistic education by encouraging students to celebrate culture along with learning. Prominent Mahila Morcha members present on the occasion included Prerna Nanda, Poonam Gupta, Santosh Sharma, Suman Raina, Chakshu Kapoor, Neeru Anand, and Anita Gandotra, who actively participated in the celebrations, interacted with students and parents, and appreciated the creativity showcased across the stalls.
