JAMMU: Sanjita Dogra, General Secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Jammu & Kashmir and incharge of the state headquarters, while addressing a Mahila Sammelan, held in Jammu Border District said that women’s role in realizing the dream of Aatmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India) is not just supportive, but a leadership role. The sammelan was organized under the Aatmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan, led by District President Rinku Chaudhary, with a focus on women’s participation and empowerment.

In her address, Sanjita Dogra, said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country is taking historic steps toward self-reliance, with the contribution of women emerging as one of the strongest pillars.

She emphasized that women living in the border areas are not only taking care of their families but are also strengthening the economic framework of society through self-employment, startups, skill development, and education. This, she said, is the true spirit of Aatmanirbhar Bharat.

Calling upon women to actively participate in the stream of development, Sanjita Dogra said that both the central and state governments under the BJP are committed to the social, political, and economic empowerment of women. She further stated that by encouraging women toward technical education, digital literacy, and financial independence, a positive transformation can be brought about in society.

She made special mention of the women in border regions, saying that the courage, confidence, and leadership they exhibit even under adverse conditions serve as an inspiration for the entire country. District President Rinku Choudhary said that the Modi govt schemes have taken special care of empowering women and bridging the gap between urban and rural areas.

Prof.Garu Ram Bhagat, MLA from Suchetgarh, remarked that women from border areas are no longer confined to families of those guarding the borders but are now playing a significant role in economic and social self-reliance as well.

Rajinder Singh Chib, District Incharge, and Aarti Jasrotia, Co incharge, highlighted the BJP’s policies and schemes that are directly benefiting women. DDC Miran Sahib Vidya Motton, District General Secretary Surjit Singh, and Ashok Virdi also encouraged women to take on local leadership roles and be active participants in politics and social upliftment.
