RAMBAN: Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mohammad Alyas Khan today convened a comprehensive public outreach programme at Mahu, one of the far-flung areas of the district. The visit focused on assessing winter preparedness and addressing the concerns of local residents amid harsh weather conditions.

The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by SDM Banihal Mohammad Naseeb Bajran; ACD Sheraz Ahmed; Tehsildar Khari, Chief Medical Officer and Executive Engineers of PWD, Jal Shakti, JPDCL, PMGSY, besides other senior officers from various departments and Army officers.

Responding to the demands, the Deputy Commissioner asked respective departments to ensure timely delivery of essential services and take measures to improve public infrastructure and connectivity in the area.

The Executive Engineer JPDCL was asked to immediately provide electric poles for Mahu, besides expediting all related works. The Executive Engineer PMGSY was asked to deploy additional JCBs and men to strengthen road clearance operations, especially during snow season.

The DC directed the concerned department to conduct a detailed survey and prepare a DPR for the construction of the Bridge at Achan, a critical demand of the locals. The Health Department was asked to ensure twice-a-week visits of specialist doctor teams, including pediatric and gynecology consultants and to station an ambulance in the area for the winter season. Reviewing the essential supplies, the DC was informed that three months’ advance ration stock has already been dumped in the area.

The Deputy Commissioner directed the Executive Engineer PWD to prepare a detailed project report for the construction of the Wallo Bridge. He assured that all genuine demands would be resolved in a time bound manner.
