• DYSS hosts Residential Trekking Expedition for Girl Students

KISHTWAR: The District Administration Kishtwar observed Constitution Day across the district with great enthusiasm and mass participation. At the district headquarters, the main function was held in the Conference Hall of the New DC Office Complex. The Program commenced with a collective reading of the Preamble, led by the Deputy Commissioner Pankaj Kumar Sharma. Officers, officials and participants reaffirmed their commitment to the constitutional values of justice, liberty, equality and fraternity.

The School Education Department organized a series of activities in educational institutions across the district, including Preamble reading, awareness programmes, quiz competitions, debates and painting contests, aimed at sensitizing students about the spirit and significance of the Indian Constitution. The Preamble reading was held in all government departments across the district.

Meanwhile, the Department of Youth Services & Sports organized an Inter-Zonal, District-Level 13 day Residential Trekking Expedition for Girls. The expedition consisting of 60 students was flagged off by the Deputy Commissioner.

During the residential trekking Expedition, students would learn  trekking techniques, map reading, trail signs, mixed terrain trekking, tent pitching, trail cleaning, rope activities, knots and balance walk, all aimed at fostering leadership, fitness and outdoor skills among the participants. The celebrations reflected the district’s commitment towards promoting constitutional awareness, youth empowerment and civic responsibility.
