GANDERBAL: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, J&K Police have arrested a drug peddler in Ganderbal and recovered contraband substances from his possession.
A police party of Police Station Ganderbal, at a checkpoint established near Wayil Bridge, intercepted a suspicious individual identified as Gulzar Ashraf Khan, son of Mohammad Ashraf Khan, resident of Buderkund Ganderbal. During his personal search, police party recovered a substantial quantity of Contraband Substance, Bhung Patri (Cannabis derivative) from his possession.
The contraband Substance was seized on the spot and the accused was arrested. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No.196/2025, under relevant sections of NDPS Act stands registered at Police Station Ganderbal, and further investigation initiated.
J&K Police remains committed of making the society drug-free and ensuring the safety and well-being of its citizens. Public cooperation remains vital in this fight against the menace of drugs.
