SRINAGAR: Al-Afnan Educational Institute, Khawaja Bagh Maloora, Shalteng Srinagar, proudly celebrated its Annual Day Programme 2025, marking a remarkable journey of 11 years of excellence in education (2015–2025). The celebration stood as a testament to the institution’s continued commitment to nurturing young minds with knowledge, values and confidence.
The ceremony was graced by several distinguished educationists, including the Chief Guest Dr. Mohammad Syed Bhat, Professor at the University of Kashmir. Other respected guests present on the occasion included Majid Bhat, Bilal Ahmad Bhat, Faisal Islam Mir, Imran Shah, Khursheed Mahajan and Mushtaq Ahmad Dar. The event also witnessed the presence of the school leadership, including Chairman Tahir Hussain Wagay and Vice Chairman Showkat Ahmad Wagay, whose guidance has been instrumental in the institution’s success.
The event witnessed an overwhelming response with enthusiastic participation from students, parents, faculty members, invited guests and dignitaries. The programme began with a graceful welcome address delivered by Ms. Mehnaza Gul along with student anchor Mantasha Firdous, who spoke confidently and managed the stage very well throughout the event.
The Chief Guest, Dr. Mohammad Syed Bhat,has expressed deep appreciation for the school’s progress over the last eleven years. He said, “The journey of 11 years is not just a milestone, but a result of dedication, hard work and a clear vision.” He congratulated the school management, teachers, students and parents for their efforts and achievements.
Dr. Bhat further added, “In today’s fast-changing world, especially with the growth of artificial intelligence and modern technologies, education has become the strongest tool for success. Children today are more intelligent, aware and capable than ever before.”
Speaking about the performances, he said, “The creativity, discipline and confidence shown by the students today reflect the high level of education and training provided by Al-Afnan Institute. This school is preparing future-ready learners and giving them the skill based education in the modern world.”
Presenting the school’s 11-year journey, Chairman Tahir Hussain Wagay shared insights into the institution’s vision and milestones. He said, “From a start in 2015 to becoming one of the region’s promising educational institutions, Al-Afnan Institute has always worked with dedication and purpose. Today’s achievements mirror our commitment to excellence, innovation and holistic education.”
Vice Chairman Showkat Ahmad Wagay appreciated the efforts of all stakeholders. He said “Every success story here belongs not only to the students but also to the teachers and parents who believed in our mission. Together, we look forward to continuing this journey of excellence and innovation,”.
The day featured a range of impactful programmes including Tilawat, Naat-e-Sharif, Speeches, Drama, Group performances, Kashmiri cultural show, Activity-based learning demonstrations etc. Parents also delivered heartfelt speeches, expressing admiration for the institution’s disciplined environment and impressive student performance.
A highlight of the event was the felicitation ceremony where students were awarded certificates of excellence, performance and appreciation across academic and co-curricular categories, including Academic toppers, Competition toppers, Spell Bee winners, Student of the Year and Best Teacher Awards. This included top recognitions Student of the Year 2025: Muhammad Huzaif Wagay, Best Teacher Award (LPD 2025): Saima Akhter, Best Teacher Award (HPD 2025): Suman Manzoor.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Vice Principal Ms. Shaziya Rashid. She expressed, “We thank our respected guests, teachers, parents and students for making this event memorable. Today’s achievements reflect the dedication of the entire Al-Afnan family. We pray this institution continues to serve the community with the same passion, integrity, and excellence.”
She also appreciated the dedicated technical team and non-teaching staff, whose hard work behind the scenes ensured the smooth and successful execution of the event. The entire programme was efficiently organized under the coordination of Ms. Suman Manzoor, Ms. Shaziya Rashid, Ms. Seerat Fayaz and Ms. Mehnaza Gul, with full support from the non-teaching departments.
