JAMMU: In preparation for the Christmas festivities and to strengthen civic infrastructure across the city, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Commissioner Dr. Devansh Yadav visited   several city churches and adjoining neighbourhoods. He visited   Prem Nagar, Christian Colony, Dogra Hall, Bakshi Nagar, Gandhi Nagar, Valmiki Colony and other residential pockets.

During the visit, Dr. Yadav interacted with the local residents, community leaders and church representatives to assess availability of essential public services and understand on-ground challenges.

Taking note of the issues raised by the locals, Dr. Yadav directed the concerned wings of JMC to immediately start repair, sanitation and restoration works. He assured residents that all identified gaps—ranging from civil works and electrical repairs to sanitation improvements—would be addressed on priority. He further committed that visible improvements would be completed within the next one month, ensuring enhanced facilities before Christmas celebrations on December 25.

“Providing equitable civic amenities to every neighbourhood is our responsibility. Community participation and timely feedback help us strengthen service delivery and build a more inclusive city,” Dr. Yadav said, urging residents to continue reporting civic issues through official JMC grievance platforms.

The Commissioner also emphasized intensified sanitation drives, improved waste collection, enhanced lighting in public spaces, and streamlined maintenance schedules to ensure safer and cleaner surroundings during the festive season.
