SHOPIAN: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Shishir Gupta, today chaired a meeting of concerned officers to review winter preparations of departments concerning the ensuing winter at Mini Secretariat Shopian.
The DC took stock of finalisation of Departmental Action Plans and emphasized the need for a coordinated approach to mitigate winter challenges and instructed concerned officers to execute mitigation plans efficiently, ensuring prompt responses to avoid inconvenience to the public through disruption of services.
Focus was given on strict implementation of the department action plans for the prioritisation of roads for snow clearance, unhindered power supply and timely replacement of DTs with decentralised and adequate Buffer stocking in Zainapora, Keller and Shopian.
He stressed on proper and comprehensive arrangements for uninterrupted water supply, healthcare facilities, fire fighting services, relief and rescue, Mughal Road snow clearance and other priority issues.
The meeting focused on interdepartmental coordination, evolving efficient mechanisms to address public grievances, and ensuring seamless services during the winter season with the establishment of Integrated Control Room at District level and department wise emergency control centres. SSP, Mushtaq Ahmad Choudhary; ADC, Dr.Zakir Hussain Faaz; SDM, Tehsildars, Executive Engineers and other district officers attended the meeting.
