JAMMU: An impressive and well-organised felicitation ceremony was held by the J&K T10 Cricket Association in Jammu to honour the champions of the J&K T10 Cricket Championship. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) J&K General Secretary and Former Deputy Mayor Jammu, Baldev Singh Billawaria, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Billawaria congratulated the J&K team for their remarkable and decisive victory over Uttar Pradesh, expressing great pride in felicitating the players whose dedication, team spirit, and outstanding performance have brought immense glory to Jammu & Kashmir.
He lauded the Association for providing a strong platform to budding cricketers and highlighted the vital role of sports in shaping the youth and channelising their energy in a constructive direction. Billawaria reiterated that the BJP remains committed to promoting sports infrastructure, nurturing emerging talent, and encouraging wider youth participation across J&K.
Billawaria further emphasised that sports play a crucial role in steering young minds away from negative influences, particularly drug abuse, which has become a growing concern in many parts of society. He stated that a disciplined sports culture is one of the strongest foundations for building a drug-free and healthy generation. He appealed to the youth to adopt sports as a daily part of their lives and join the collective mission of creating a Nasha-Mukt (drug-free) Jammu & Kashmir, reaffirming that the organisation is constantly working towards awareness and prevention campaigns to protect the future of young citizens.
He further stated that such championships not only enhance the competitive spirit but also help identify promising players capable of representing the region at the national and international levels. Encouraging the players, he urged them to continue working with discipline, focus, and determination, assuring them of full support from the organisation in all future endeavours.
Billawaria applauded the collective efforts of all players, coaches, and organisers for their dedication to strengthening the sports culture in Jammu & Kashmir. He emphasised that such achievements inspire countless youngsters to take up sports and bring further laurels to the region. Leading from the front, Captain Anil Kumar played a pivotal role in steering the team to victory through his dynamic leadership and strategic acumen.
The final match was marked by an extraordinary performance from Akash Choudhary, who deservedly received both the Man of the Final Match and the Best Batsman of the Series awards for his consistent, explosive, and match-winning batting throughout the tournament.
