- Stresses timely completion of heritage project
KULGAM: Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan, today visited the revered Sheikh‑ul‑Alam (RA) Shrine at Qaimoh to review the ongoing beautification and development works under the district’s heritage project. During the visit, the DC emphasized the need for timely completion, directing authorities to ensure high-quality workmanship, aesthetic appeal, and strict adherence to heritage-preservation norms.
The shrine is being developed on a heritage-pattern design, at an estimated cost of Rs. 3.19 crore, with the aim of preserving its cultural and architectural essence while upgrading facilities for devotees and visitors.
He also interacted with local stakeholders to gather their inputs and feedback.The project seeks to enhance the shrine’s infrastructure while safeguarding its historical and spiritual significance, making it a well-maintained centre of faith, heritage, and community for present and future generations. Accompanying the DC were Additional Deputy Commissioner, ACR, Executive Engineer R&B, Jal Shakti, Tehsildar, and other officials.
