SAMBA: A Processing Unit was inaugurated at Samba by the Director Horticulture Jammu Gul Sayed, marking an important step towards promoting value addition and employment generation in the horticulture sector. The event was attended by MCC Kathua Anju Bala, MCC Jammu Shreshtha Gaur and HDO Vijaypur Manmohan Lal, who extended their support and shared insights on strengthening processing activities at the grassroots level.
More than 50 farmers took part in the programme, where they were made aware of various departmental schemes and initiatives aimed at encouraging self-employment and entrepreneurship among rural youth and women. As part of the event, mobile demonstration programmes were also conducted to impart hands-on training to women, enabling them to adopt processing and value addition activities for sustainable income generation.
