BARAMULLA, KULGAM: Continuing its war against drug dealings, Police have arrested two drug peddlers and recovered contraband substances from their possession. A police party at a checkpoint established at Shajimarg–Qazipora Road near Biscoe School arrested a drug peddler identified as Bilal Ahmad Bhat son of Gh Nabi Bhat resident of Gutlipora Tangmarg. During search, 20 grams of Charas-like substance was recovered from their possession. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 76/2025 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Tangmarg and investigation has been initiated.
Meanwhile in Kulgam, a police party led by IC PP Mirbazar during naka checking at Furrah Bypass Mirbazar, intercepted a suspicious person identified as Nadeem Manzoor Naikoo son of Manzoor Ahmad Naikoo resident of Pati Akhran, Nowpora carrying a bag. During search, Poppy Straw weighing 2.050 kgs like substance was recovered from his possession. J&K Police reiterates its firm resolve to eliminate the drug menace from society and appeals to the citizens to come forward with any information regarding drug peddling or other unlawful activities.
