- Calls for strengthening financial inclusion, implementation of flagship schemes
JAMMU: The District Level Review Committee (DLRC), District Level Consultative Committee (DLCC) and District Level Review and Action Committee (DLRAC) meetings for the quarter ending June 2025 were held today under the chairmanship of Additional District Development Commissioner Jammu Sher Singh.
The meetings, organised by Lead District Manager Jammu Ajay Kumar Thapa, were attended by Chief Planning Officer (CPO) Ajaypal Singh, representatives from DIC, KVIB, KVIC, Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, NABARD, RBI (Lead District Officer), RSETI and senior officials from various banks.
The ADDC reviewed the performance of banks and the implementation of government-sponsored schemes. He advised banks to take measures to improve the Credit-Deposit Ratio and ensure effective financial inclusion so that benefits reach eligible beneficiaries.
He emphasised special focus on flagship schemes such as PM Surya Ghar and Mission YUVA, directing banks and departments to provide timely credit assistance to beneficiaries. He also called for conducting Information, Education and Communication activities to raise awareness among the public, especially youth, about welfare and financial assistance programmes.
The ADDC urged banks to expedite Re-KYC processes and resolve DEAF (Unclaimed Deposit) accounts. He said coordinated efforts among banks, line departments and the district administration are essential for strengthening the financial ecosystem and achieving development goals.
The ADDC appreciated the efforts of the banking sector and urged continued coordination with the district administration to ensure effective implementation of financial inclusion and timely achievement of targets under priority sector lending and government schemes.
