100% financial assistance to Ex-Servicemen reflects Modi Govt’s unwavering commitment: Dr. Hari Dutt Shishu

JAMMU: J&K BJP Spokesperson Dr. Hari Dutt Shishu has welcomed the landmark decision of the Central Government to provide 100% financial assistance to Ex-Servicemen and their dependents. He said this significant move underscores the commitment and dedication of the present regime towards our soldiers, who have rendered selfless service and sacrifices for the nation. “The decision of the Government will go a long way in ensuring respect and dignity for our brave soldiers and their families,” said Dr. Shishu.

Dr. Shishu informed that the penury grant has been doubled from Rs. 4,000 to Rs. 8,000 per month per beneficiary, providing sustained lifetime support to aged and non-pensioner Ex-Servicemen and their widows above the age of 65 years with no regular income. This will be operated by the Kendriya Sainik Board, he added.

He further stated that it is the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the sensitivity of the Modi Government that all issues concerning soldiers and their families are addressed with a humane approach. The educational grant has been increased from Rs. 1,000 to Rs. 2,000 per month per head for up to two dependent children (from Class 1 to Graduation) or widows pursuing a two-year postgraduate course.

Dr. Shishu also appreciated the increase in marriage grant from Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 1,00,000 per beneficiary, applicable for up to two daughters of Ex-Servicemen and for widow remarriage. He said this enhancement is a major step for the social security and dignity of this highly deserving section of society.

He further stated that the decision reflects the core ideology of the BJP, where the Nation is always first, and hence the welfare of soldiers, who stand as the nation’s strongest pillars, is always at the top of the Central Government’s agenda. This landmark decision is a testimony to the Modi Government’s respect and gratitude for our veterans, stated Dr. Hari Dutt Shishu.
