KISHTWAR: Director Horticulture Jammu Gul Sayed along with Assistant Director Horticulture Sunil Gupta conducted a two day extensive tour of District Kishtwar to oversee Horticulture sector operations and other development activities in the region. The team conducted a thorough review and assessed the ground level impact of flagship schemes including HADP, MIDH, JKCIP & UT Capex.
The Director led team also inspected various orchards in Pochhal area & cold storage unit at Shalimar, besides convening a meeting with the District Development Commissioner, Kishtwar regarding departmental activities. While interacting with the orchardists and farmers, the Director highlighted departmental initiatives and encouraged them to come forward and avail benefits under Micro Food Processing, MIDH and HADP schemes for the development of the horticulture sector in Kishtwar district.
Later, the Director chaired a meeting with the Chief Horticulture Officer and other field Officers to review the physical and financial progress of each scheme. He stressed upon timely completion of developmental works and maintaining high standards in nursery management and fruit plant propagation. The visit concluded with an assurance from the Director of all possible support to farmers for the promotion of horticulture activities and value addition in the area.
