SRINAGAR: In continuation of the efforts to eradicate the drug menace from the society, Police have arrested two drug peddlers in Ganderbal & Pulwama and recovered contraband substance from their possession. A Police unit of Police Station Lar at a checkpoint established at Benhama Lar arrested a drug peddler identified as Imtiyaz Ahmad Mir son of Abdul Jabar Mir resident of Benhama Lar. During search, 3.81Kgs of Bhang Patri and 32 grams of Charas has been recovered from their possession.
In Pulwama, a naka party from Police Post Newa intercepted a Tata Sumo vehicle bearing registration number JK13B-0980, driven by Hilal Ahmed Wani son of Sonaullah Wani resident of Zadoora. During search, a nylon sack containing 12.650 kgs of Charas Powder was recovered. Vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized.
Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective police stations and investigations have been taken up. J&K Police requests general public to share information regarding drug peddling to the Police for strict action.
