BHADERWAH: The School of Management Studies (SOMS) at Bhaderwah Campus, University of Jammu, marked this year’s Teacher’s Day with a vibrant and heartfelt celebration. The occasion, organized by the students of MBA 1st and 3rd semesters, was a testament to the deep appreciation and respect they hold for their teachers.
The day’s festivities began with an atmosphere brimming with enthusiasm. Students took the initiative to make the celebration special, meticulously planning and executing a range of activities to honor their teachers. One of the highlights of the event was the unique role reversal, where senior students took over the classes for the day, adding an element of fun and surprise to the proceedings.
In a special message, Prof. J.P. Singh Joorel, Rector Bhaderwah Campus, extended his heartfelt congratulations to the faculty and students of SOMS. He highlighted the critical role teachers play in shaping not only academic knowledge but also the overall personality and future of students. Prof. Joorel commended the initiative of the students in organizing the event and emphasized the importance of such occasions in strengthening the bond between teachers and students. He reiterated the Bhaderwah Campus' commitment to fostering a nurturing environment where both educators and learners thrive in mutual respect and collaboration.
The event commenced with a warm welcome address by Dr. Rohit Bhagat, which set a positive and uplifting tone. His words acknowledged the efforts of the students in organizing the program and reflected the mutual respect shared between students and teachers. Following the welcome address, the official start of the celebration was marked by a symbolic cake-cutting ceremony, representing the sweet and enduring relationship between teachers and students.
A vibrant cultural program followed, with standout performances by the students. Mohd Kaif, a student of the BBA 3rd semester, performed an engaging dance, while Mr. Mohammad Avais and Mr. Amit shared their experiences at Bhaderwah Campus and highlighted the invaluable role teachers play in shaping their students' futures. Dr. Atif Javed Qazi also took the stage to speak about the significant impact teachers have on students’ lives, emphasizing their support through both the highs and lows of a student's career.
Throughout the event, students showcased their talents with dance and musical performances, adding an artistic touch to the celebration. Mr. Nitin and Mr. Govind spoke about the lasting influence teachers have in molding students' lives. To keep the energy high and ensure everyone had a memorable day, several interactive games were organized, further engaging the teachers and students.
In his address, Dr. Umesh Choudhary, Head of the Department, expressed his heartfelt appreciation for the dedication and hard work of the faculty. He commended them for their unwavering commitment to shaping the future of their students. Dr. Choudhary also lauded the students for their impressive efforts in organizing such a thoughtful and enjoyable event.
