JAMMU: Director, CBC, J&K and Ladakh, Shri Ghulam Abbas held a meeting here today with all the Field Units of the Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, to review progress and status of various outreach activities conducted in the last five months of this year.
During the review meeting, Sh Abbas was briefed on the number of outreach activities organised by the Field Units of Jammu, Udhampur, Samba, Kathua, Rajouri, Poonch, Doda, Srinagar and Anantnag in the last two quarters, namely April-June 2024 and July-September 2024.
The meeting was informed that a total of 162 outreach activities were organised on the Three Criminal Laws, viz the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS-2023), the Bharatiya Nagrik Suraksha Adhiniyam (BNSS 2023) and the Bharatiya Shakshya Adhiniyam (BSA-2023), national integration and communal harmony, Systematic Votersâ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP), International Day of Yoga and Mission LiFE during the period.
In August 2024, exhibitions were organised in Padder area of district Kishtwar, Sunderbani in Rajouri, Safapora in Ganderbal and Hirpora in Shopian. Besides, Departmental Artists alongwith Private Registered parties were also engaged in the presentation of cultural performances for the pilgrimage of Shri Amarnathji Yatra at the base camp of Yatri Niwas Bhawan, Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu.
The Director appreciated the In-Charges of the Field Units for their untiring efforts to inform and educate citizens, particularly the youth, about various flagship schemes and programmes of the Government of India, such as NashaMukta Bharat Abhiyan, Mission LiFE, Ek Bharat Shreshta Bharat (EBSB), Three New Criminal Laws, and Swachh Bharat Mission.
He said CBC is leaving no stone unturned in creating awareness about these schemes so that more and more citizens can benefit from them. Addressing the gathering, Shri Abbas urged everyone to play their part in realising the goal of a Viksit Bharat.
On the occasion, Shri Ghulam Abbas informed that CBC plans to organise outreach activities in the Union Territory of Ladakh from the 15th of this month. He further informed that plans are also afoot to organise exhibitions in district Reasi, coinciding with the upcoming Navratra festival at Katra in the month of October.

Lone, M&CO, Leh, Amir Amin Nowsheri, FPA, Field Office, Kathua, Shri Rajesh Sharma, FPA, Poonch, Shri Vijay Mattoo, FPA, Rajouri, Shri Sunil Kumar and FPA, Doda, Shri Vikram Uppal.
It is pertinent to mention that acting as an advisory body to the Government on media strategy, CBCâs chief mandate is to advance the Governmentâs image as the prime facilitator of peopleâs empowerment by positioning messages through Print, Audio-Visual, Outdoor and Digital Media.
