  • Emphasizes Transparency, timely Execution of Projects & smooth Scheduled Power Supply across district

SHOPIAN: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Shopian, Charandeep Singh today convened a comprehensive review meeting here at Mini-Secretariat Shopian with the KPDCL officials to assess the power scenario, infrastructure augmentation and winter preparedness across the district.

During the meeting, detailed discussions were held regarding system strengthening, pending connections, transformer replacements and network reliability to ensure smooth power distribution ahead of the winter season. The DDC emphasized on completing pending infrastructure projects under RDSS and other schemes, including metering and feeder line works, within strict timelines.

Special focus was laid on maintaining adequate stock and buffer arrangements for transformers and equipment to minimize power disruption during harsh winter conditions. Directing officers to function with utmost transparency and teamwork, the DDC stressed that public convenience remains the top priority. Instructions were issued to promptly address public grievances, ensure timely resolution of fault complaints and provide real-time updates to the public in case of power outages.

Directions were issued to fix strict completion schedules to de-stress overloading feeders and ensure 100% metering targets across the district. The DDC reviewed the implementation of the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, directing officers to accelerate awareness drive activities and speed up field execution so maximum households benefit from solar energy.

The Chair instructed for constitution of dedicated teams for winter monitoring, power enforcement, and immediate grievance redressal to prevent line losses and illegal tapping. The DDC added that no laxity will be tolerated in executing power development projects and all concerned officers were instructed to work in close coordination and maintain active communication with the public to deliver a hassle-free power supply across the district.
