• DC inaugurates Agri-venture designed for cultivation of Exotic Vegetables

DODA: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Doda, Harvinder Singh today inaugurated a state-of-the-art High-Tech Poly House at Panchayat Dhareja, Bhaderwah established under the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) 2024-25. This initiative aims to promote cultivation of exotic vegetables under open and protected farming systems.

The Rs. 17.857 lakh project has been established with a 95% subsidy, benefiting Touqir Ahmed, a progressive farmer from the region. The initiative aligns with the administration’s commitment to modernizing agriculture and enhancing farmers' income through technological interventions and sustainable practices. Later, the Deputy Commissioner also launched a plantation drive, planting saplings to promote environmental conservation. He further distributed tree saplings among the locals, encouraging afforestation and green cover expansion in the district.

The event witnessed the participation of Officers and officials from the Agriculture, Horticulture, and allied departments, who highlighted the significance of protected cultivation in boosting productivity and ensuring year-round availability of high-value crops. The DC Doda emphasized the district administration’s commitment to supporting farmers with modern infrastructure and schemes under HADP, ensuring sustainable growth in the agriculture sector.

The local farmers and beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the government’s support, appreciating the initiative’s role in enhancing agricultural resilience and economic stability in the region.
