JAMMU: IGNOU has launched Post Graduate Diploma programme in Waste Management (PGDWAM) from the January 2025 admission cycle through ODL mode. The progamme covers the important components of Waste Management with focus on Environmental management, Environmental issues, Social Systems, Health and Waste Management, Entrepreneurship in Waste Management, and Environmental Health and Ecotoxicology. Candidates who have completed their graduation in any discipline from a recognized University can apply for the programme.

“The programme started with the objective of sensitizing the learners about the problem of waste generation and its impact on the environment and human health and it aims to familiarise the students with existing legislation, knowledge, and practices regarding waste management in India”, said Dr. Sandeep Gupta, Regional Director.
