SRINAGAR: Police along with Forest Division Officer in a joint operation, seized huge quantity of illicit forest timber in the Keller area of Shopian. Acting on a specific information about a consignment of illegally smuggled forest timber in Keller, a Police team of Police Station Keller headed by SHO PS Keller along with DFO Shopian raided the residence of Manzoor Ahmad Khanday son of Gh Ahmad Khanday resident of Chowan Keller. During search, joint team was able to recover 40 fts of forest timber. Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered in PS Keller and investigation has been initiated.
