JAMMU: To review implementation of Prime Ministerâs Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) in Punjab, Haryana States and Union Territory Chandigarh, Â a review meeting was conducted under the chairmanship of Dr. Hina Shafi Bhat, Honâble Member (NZ), KVIC. During the meeting Director Industries and Commerce Shri D.P. S. Kharbanda (IAS), Convenor SLBC, in Punjab, Haryana States and Union Territory Chandigarh, Representative RBI, Member Convenor, Shri V. K. Nagar State Director KVIC in Punjab, Haryana States and Union Territory Chandigarh, Representatives of various Banks were present.
Dr. Hina held a detailed review of the PMEGP being implemented by all sponsoring agencies viz KVIC. KVIB & DIC. She said PMEGP is the flagship scheme of Ministry of MSME and is an effective instrument for generating employment opportunities in urban and rural India through setting up of micro enterprises. She said PMEGP is an effective scheme to tackle unemployment, generate sustainable employment opportunities in rural and urban areas and financial institutions like banks play a crucial role here.â
She asked the banks to work in right earnest to meet the targets of the programme and expedite disbursement of the margin money. Member (NZ) expressed that the discussions held during the review meeting with all the stakeholders, including representatives of various Banks, States officials and other beneficiaries, will be fruitful on crucial areas like collateral free loans, timely bank sanctions, release of margin money subsidy and loan installment, coverage of credit guarantee scheme, achievement of social category targets of SC, ST, minority, women etc. The meeting will encourage all the stakeholders and will leads to better implementation of PMEGP Scheme in in Punjab, Haryana States and Union Territory Chandigarh, thereby achieving the set targets in time and providing better employment opportunities to the youths. The position was reviewed in the meeting and also the bottlenecks were examined. Before, this State Director Shri V.K. Nagar  briefed the Honâble Member and all present during the meeting about the District-Wise and Bank-Wise progress of PMEGP for the year 2017-18.

MUZAFARABAD:Â The civilian killings in South Kashmirâs Shopian district sparked a protest in Muzafarabad, the capital city of Pakistan administered Kashmir. Reports said that hundreds of students of Kashmir University at Muzafarabad hit to roads and registered a strong protest against the civilian killings in this part of Kashmir. Three students Javaid Ahmed Bhat, Suhail Ahmed and Rayees Ahmed were killed at Ganowpora Shopian after army opened fire on the stone-throwers.

The protesting students including females were holding placards and banners seeking an end to innocent killings. The protesting students marched from city campus of University and it culminated at CMH Chowk. Some pro freedom and human rights organizations including International Forum for Justice also participated in the protest. The protesting students urged upon international community to take note of the human rights violations committed by India in Kashmir.
NEW DELHI: Department of Tourism J&K participated in 3-day South Asian Travel and Tourism Exhibition (SATTE) Travel Show which began here on Wednesday. SATTE is one of the biggest travel shows in Asia which has become the launch platform for tourism stakeholders from across the globe to do business in and with India. Besides, J&K Tourism department, over hundred travel agents, hoteliers, other service providers and heads of the various travel and hotel associations from the Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh regions are participating in the travel show to promote J&K.

Secretary Tourism J&K Sarmead Hafeez and Director Tourism Kashmir Mahmood A Shah along with other senior officers from the department participated in the travel show. Secretary Tourism said SATTE attracts professionals in travel and tourism from across the globe who generate business for the industry. âSATTE is one of the largest tourism shows in Asia where we can project and prmote our tourism destinations. The department will provide all the information about the J&Kâ s destinations, products, services to the visitors to attract them to the state,â he said.

Over 20000 visitors including domestic and international sellers and buyers, State tourism officials, heads of international tourism boards, hoteliers, and aviation experts are showcasing their products and services to the global trade community. The travel show also provides an opportunity for the state tourism department to conduct business sessions with the visitors during the three days.

The department at its pavilion showcased short movies on different destinations to the visitors who were mesmerized to see the stunning beauty, splendid art and craft beside unique food of the state. On the first day, large number of visitors turned up at J&K Pavilion to enquire about J&Kâs tourism products, new destinations and infrastructure development. The department informed them about the pilgrim, MICE, heritage, art & craft, food, known and lesser known destinations of all the three regions of the state.

The department also distributed comprehensive publicity material in the form of brochures, pamphlets etc containing videos to the visitors showcasing stateâs tourism potential. The department is also holding a press conference and ambassadorsâ meet at New Delhi in association Travel Agents Association of Kashmir. The meet has been organized in order to make efforts to dilute travel advisories from different European countries on Kashmir.

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will launch the first Khelo India School Games at Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in New Delhi on January 31, 2018. The Khelo India programme has been introduced to revive the sports culture in India at the grass-root level by building a strong framework for all sports played in our country and establishing India as a great sporting nation. In keeping with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision, Khelo India is expected to help scout young talent from the schools in various disciplines and groom them as future sports champions.

Talented players identified in priority sports disciplines at various levels by a High-Powered Committee will be provided annual financial assistance of Rs. 5 lakh per annum for 8 years. The Khelo India School Games are being held from 31st January to 8th February, 2018 in New Delhi. Under-17 athletes have been invited to participate across 16 disciplines: Archery, Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Boxing, Football, Gymnastics, Hockey, Judo, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Shooting, Swimming, Volleyball, Weightlifting, and Wrestling. The games will highlight Indiaâs young sporting talent and showcase India's sports potential. 199 gold medals, 199 silver medals and 275 bronze medals are at stake in the Khelo India School Games. The countryâs brightest talent in the under-17 age group will compete in the Games.

MUMBAI: Two Kashmiri youth were tapped in Mumbai city of Maharashtra on Tuesday while shamefully begging in the name of Kashmiri conflict and via through concocted stories. According to the eyewitnesses, two youth holding a letter of appeal were caught by commuters after they smell them suspicion. A video which lies with Kashmir News Bureau (KNB), shows that the trapped youth trying to hide their faces after being caught red handed by commuters.Â

The letter of appeal which also lies with KNB reads âKashmir has been facing man problems due to strikes and curfews. We have no arrived at this city for time being and are staying in tents in Bandra Navpada.â âWe request your good self to help us as much as possible that will be your kindness,â reads the letter with Indian national flags printed on it. These youth are concocting stories as âhow the political uncertainty has resulted in destruction everywhere in Kashmir,â an eyewitness told KNB over phone from Mumbai. âWe tried to grab them aimed to register a case with police, however, they managed to flee,â the eyewitness added.Â
NEW DELHI: Prof.Bhim Singh who got a discharge from Apollo Hospital, Hyderabad day before yesterday under pressure interacted with several senior doctors in the AIIMS and in Batra Hospital, New Delhi told his friends that he was feeling fine and wonderful. He said that he shall visit his motherland, Jammu very soon after getting final clearance from the senior doctors in New Delhi.
Prof.Bhim Singh was admitted in the Apollo Hospital, Hyderabad on 24th January, 2018 in the afternoon after he suffered from a minor headache. He was released by the hospital in the afternoon on 25th January 2018 on the personal request of Prof.Bhim Singh. Prof.Bhim Singh was suddenly got some problems and was taken to the same hospital after midnight on 25th January, 2018. Prof.Bhim Singh protested against the maltreatment of the doctors and demanded leave from the hospital. He was released at 12.00 in the midnight on 26th January, 2018. He returned to New Delhi by air on 27th January, 2018. He reached in New Delhi with Mrs. Sudesh Dogra, Political Secretary and Mr. Anirudh Singh, State Secretary-JKNPP.
