Cong will face humiliating defeat in LS polls: former Mayor CM Gupta

JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir BJP Vice President & former Mayor, JMC, Chander Mohan Gupta, while interacting with a group of the party activists in a meeting at Bakshi Nagar, Jammu, said that the popularity of BJP has unnerved the opposition parties, particularly the Congress, which is finding it difficult to face the public. He said that the Congress leaders are day dreaming of regaining trust of the people but the ground realities speak that in the upcoming elections of Lok Sabha, it will face humiliating defeat and totally wiped out.

Chander Mohan Gupta said that the Congress-led UPA under Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh ruled the country for ten years and the BJP-led NDA under Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, too ruled for same period. While during the ten years of UPA, different sections of the people in Jammu and Kashmir were deprived of genuine rights, they were discriminated, there was almost no development and the poor, needy, marginalized class, led miserable lives, as there was no one to listen to their grievances and provide any relief.

“When the BJP-led NDA came into power at the Centre and the days of miseries and discrimination with the people in Jammu and Kashmir were over”, Gupta said and added that lot of good works have been done in the last ten years under PM Narendra Modi, which has been hailed by people cutting their region, religion, gender, in entire length and breadth of the UT.

The BJP leader said the Congress leaders are out on roads to once again mislead the people on false slogans and promises to gain votes but will not succeed in their designs as the people don’t want to repeat their past mistakes of supporting this party, which was never concerned for the wellbeing of a common citizen. He stressed upon the party activists to reach at the doorsteps of the people and share with them numerous welfare schemes of Modi government, which have changed the lives of crores of people across the country. He also asked them to identify the beneficiaries of welfare schemes and seek their support for the party so that Narendra Modi leads the nation as Prime Minister for the third consecutive term and the welfare schemes and development projects get further push to meet the requirements of the people.    

The meeting was attended by Balbir Ram Rattan, Kunti Jasrotia, Ramesh Gupta, Pardeep Sharma, Surinder Choudhary, Dil Bahadur Singh, T.K. Sharma, Uma Kapahi, Asad Mallick, Vijay Choudhary and others.
