- Prominent Figures Attend Event Celebrating Harmony in Kargi
KARGIL: In Ladakh, In a remarkable display of unity and camaraderie, the Indian Army's Kargil Sentinels hosted an Iftar party at Kargil Sanik Institute (KSI), drawing notable personalities and community leaders from diverse backgrounds.
Among the esteemed attendees were the Chief Executive Councillor (CEC) of Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) Kargil, Dr Mohd Jaffar Akhone, Executive Councilor (EC) Aga Syed Mujtaba and Chairman Hajj Committee Ladakh Mohd Ali Majaz. Additionally, the President of Jamiyat Ullama Isna Ashriya Kargil, Sheikh Nazir Mehdi Mohammadi, General Secretary IKMT Kargil Haji Ghulam Khan and the President of the Kargil Buddhist Association, Skarma Dadol, graced the occasion with their presence.
Brigadier Prateek Prashar, Commander of 121 Infantry Brigade, emphasized the privilege of hosting such an event, highlighting the inclusive spirit that unites people of all faiths in Kargil. Reflecting on the historic relationship between the army and civilians since 1947, Brigadier Prateek underscored the resilience and strength of this bond, forged through shared experiences including wars fought together.
Expressing gratitude, Dr Jaffar Akhone commended the Army's efforts in organizing the Iftar party, which served as a platform for bringing together various segments of society, further fortifying social cohesion and unity.
Sheikh Nazir Mehdi extended his appreciation to the Indian Army for its unwavering commitment to peace and harmony, and prayed for the safety and well-being of soldiers stationed in the heights of Kargil, safeguarding the nation against external threats.
