  • Directs to avoid last minute rush for registration by Labourers, Ponywalas

SRINAGAR: Conclude registration of service providers including Labourers, Ponywalas, Pithu Walas and Palkiwalas fifteen days prior to the formal commencement of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2024 to ensure smooth conduct of annual pilgrimage, Divisional Commissioner (Div Com) Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri directed Labour and Animal Husbandry Departments while chairing a review meeting.

The meeting was apprised that Labourers and Ponywalas rush to registration camps at the eleventh hours which hampers the smooth conduct of the yatra. Bidhuri while reviewing the arrangements for SANJY-2024, said that the legacy data was made available to concerned departments to make the registration process smooth and convenient.
The registration of service providers shall commence from tomorrow at different camps established on the two axis of yatra. In Anantnag, the registration will be held at Pahalgam, Aishmuqam, Khayar, Sallar, Matigawran and Chittergul.

Similarly, in Ganderbal, the Animal Husbandry Department has established advance registration camps at Gutlibagh/ Urpash, Waliwar, Mammer and Wangath. Besides, Joint camps of AHD and Labour Department have been established at Kangan and Hariganiwan in Ganderbal.

Also, registration camp at Base Camp Sonmarg shall be made functional soon. The meeting was attended by DCs of Anantnag and Ganderbal; Additional CEO, SASB; Labour Commissioner; Director Animal Husbandry; Deputy Labour Commissioner Kashmir; Chief Animal Husbandry Officers; Assistant Labour Commissioners besides other officers.
