  • Resolves public issues, concedes developmental demands

RAMBAN: Deputy Commissioner Ramban Mohammad Alyas Khan today presided over a Public Outreach camp at Village Krawah in Block Banihal. The camp was organised under the IEC Campaign “Jan Bhagidaari – Sabse Door, Sabse Pehle” aimed at ensuring awareness generation and saturation of welfare schemes in tribal populated areas.

The programme witnessed active participation of local residents who projected several public issues and developmental demands before the district administration.  ADC Varunjeet Singh Charak; PO ICDS Abdul Qyume; SDM Mohammad Naseeb Bajraan; ACD Sheraz Ahmed; CPO Dr. Shakeeb Ahmed Rather and other district and sectoral officers were present to attend to the public demands.

The Deputy Commissioner gave a patient hearing to the grievances and demands raised by the people. He directed the concerned officers to take prompt action to address the issues.

Responding to the demands, the Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned officers to take necessary measures for fencing of the local graveyard. Regarding road connectivity and overhead bridges, he instructed the construction agencies to take necessary action and treat the demand as most urgent requirements.

Addressing issues related to labour cards, the Assistant Labour Commissioner was asked to organise a special camp in the area on coming Monday to facilitate registration and redress grievances of workers. The officers were asked to ensure coordination with locals during the camp.

The Deputy Commissioner further directed officers to conduct regular field visits and maintain close coordination with the people for timely resolution of their issues. He also reviewed demands related to road connectivity, development of playground and park, old age pension, community infrastructure, establishment of an Anganwadi Centre and water supply.

Assuring permanent restoration of disrupted drinking water supply in few weeks, the Deputy Commissioner said that tanker services would continue in the meantime. As a part of “Jan Bhagidaari – Sabse Door, Sabse Pehle” the departments sensitized the people about respective developmental and welfare schemes. The programme concluded with on-the-spot directions to officers for expeditious follow-up action on public grievances and developmental issues raised by the locals.
