SRINAGAR: In a joint venture Excise Range South Kashmir and Skylight Higher Secondary School Pampore today organized an awareness cum Volley Ball match incorporating the theme, 'Drug Abuse, its implications/ challenges and the way forward. Before the match began, a pledge was taken by all the players, including staff members and spectators to say no to drugs/ psychotropic substances like the cultivation of Poppy and Bhung.
The match concluded with an appreciation ceremony. All the participants were awarded certificates/ medals/ mementos as a mark of respect. After the match was over, all the participants including students were enlightened about the growing menace of drug addiction amongst youth.
The experts from the Excise Department and the Principal delivered a comprehensive speech on the topic and made humble requests to the student community for developing an attitude of thanksgiving and further requested them to act as the Ambassadors of the department in floating this message far and wide for greater human cause.
