AWANTIPORA: In compliance with the directions of PHQ Jammu & Kashmir, a 02-day specialized training programme was organized at District Police Lines Awantipora to enhance the professional skills of Investigating Officers, SHOs, and other police personnel.
The programme was inaugurated by SSP Awantipora. Among others present on the occasion were Addl. SP Awantipora, Sr. Prosecuting Officer DPO Awantipora, SDPO Tral, SDPO Pampore, DySP DAR Awantipora and other officers.
The training focused on key aspects of modern and effective investigation, including scientific and legally admissible evidence collection, preservation of the chain of custody, and proper documentation practices. Emphasis was also laid on accurate case diary writing and meticulous charge sheet preparation to ensure stronger prosecution in courts.
Special focus was also laid on investigation of cases under the NDPS Act, ensuring strict compliance with legal procedures and strengthening the quality of investigation in narcotics-related offences.
Additionally, the programme covered investigation techniques in cases involving collective violence and public order offences, equipping officers with the necessary skills to handle such sensitive situations effectively. The initiative reflects the commitment of J&K Police to strengthen investigative standards and ensure professionalism in policing.
