RAMBAN: Reyaz Ahmed Mullah, a poor rural household in Block Gool, Ramban, lived in a dilapidated mud house with his family. The roof was damaged, and the family suffered during snow and rainy seasons.
Despite being a wage seeker under MGNREGA, Reyaz struggled to make ends meet and bear medical expenses due to unhealthy living conditions. However, everything changed when Reyaz's house was sanctioned under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin) in 2023-24.
The Block Administration, led by the BDO Gool, took a special drive to complete the house, involving the community and providing regular monitoring and assistance.
With financial assistance of Rs. 1,30,000/- under PMAY-G, Reyaz constructed a new house within 45 days. Additionally, he received a twin leach pit toilet under Swachha Bharat Mission (Gramin), electricity connection under Saubhagya Scheme, LED bulbs under Ujala scheme, and a free LPG connection under Ujjwala Scheme.
The intervention transformed Reyaz's life, providing a healthier and safer living condition for his family. They are now concerned about health and hygiene, using sanitary toilets, and enjoying the benefits of electricity and LPG connections.
Reyaz expresses his gratitude towards administration and said that due to PMAY-G, SBM, Ujala, and Ujjwala Schemes, my family's living condition has improved, and we are living happily.
This success story showcases the impact of PMAY-G, SBM, MGNREGA, Ujala and Ujjwala schemes in improving rural lives and demonstrates the power of community involvement and government initiatives in transforming lives
