POONCH: Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal today chaired the meeting of District Level Committee(DLRC) & DCC to review the performance of Banks in achieving Annual Credit Plan(ACP) targets and abetting of Government Sponsored self-employment cases during the first two quarters (April to September Quarter) of the current financial year.

Lead District Manager Ravi Kumar informed the house that Banks operating in the district made total credit disbursement of Rs.551.21Crore against annual target of Rs. 725.03 Cror thereby achieving 76% of the target. âThis include credit disbursement of Rs.222.19 crore under Priority sector against the target of Rs.571.10 crore forming 39% of the target and Rs.329.01 Crore under Non-Priority Sector against target of Rs.153.91 crore forming 214% of the target.
It was also informed that Total business of different Banks in District Poonch is Rs. 6133.84 Crore of which Deposits have risen from Rs.3577.76 Crore as on September30, 2023 to Rs.4030.03Crores as on September 30, 2024 showing a Year on Year growth of 12.64%. Advances have risen from Rs.1928.26 Crore as on September 30, 2023 to Rs.2103.81 Crores as on September 30, 2024 showing YOY growth of 9.10%. CD ratio of the District stood at 52.20 % as on 30th September, 2024.
The Chairman DLRC impressed upon all the stakeholders to create an enabling environment through Govt. Sponsored Schemes, where youth can think beyond Government Jobs and opt for gainful self employment. Terming employment generation a major challenge, the Chairman advised all the participants to go an extra mile and show empathy towards the unemployed youth in guiding them towards the path of prosperity and self-sufficiency through various Govt. Sponsored Schemes tailored in accordance to their entrepreneurial aspirations. The Chairman DLRC directed all the stakeholders to improve performance under priority sector lending so that results are visible on ground.
