- DC hands over Registration Certificates to newly established PACs
POONCH: Additional Deputy Commissioner Tahir Mustafa Malik today chaired the second meeting of the Joint Working Committee (JWC) focusing on enhancing cooperative development in the district. The meeting was attended by the Deputy Registrar Cooperatives, along with the officials from allied departments, including representatives from the Animal Husbandry Office, the Fisheries Department, and JCC Bank.
The Deputy Registrar presented the agenda points outlined in the Margdarshika. The progress on each item from the Action Plan following the first JWC was reviewed. A key emphasis was placed on achieving 100% coverage of Gram Panchayats, particularly in underserved areas of the District with focus on PACs and promotion of Cooperative societies in dairy, and fisheries. Allied departments vowed their support to existing cooperative societies and committed to facilitate the registration of new Multi-Purpose Agricultural Cooperative Societies (MPACS).
The Additional Deputy Commissioner urged for holistic cooperation among all stakeholders to realize the vision of "Sahakar se Samriddhi" (Prosperity through Cooperation). The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks to the chair. Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal today presented registration certificates to newly established Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) and dairy cooperatives, marking a significant advancement in strengthening the cooperative movement in the District.
The initiative is part of a broader effort to register 10,000 new MPACS in the country alongside cooperatives in the dairy and fishery sectors. The district administration aims to establish multipurpose PACS and specialized cooperatives in all Panchayats and villages across the country. This symbolic gesture underscores the district administration's commitment to fostering the growth of the cooperative sector, highlighting its potential to empower local communities. By invigorating enthusiasm among cooperative members, the initiative aims to promote collective progress and collaboration within the community.
