JAMMU: Parmeshwari Care & Cure Charitable Trust (PCCCT), a social organization working for the promotion of Dogra culture has planned to establish “Elderly Studio” in Jammu in the coming days. Prof. Kulbhushan Mohtra, Chairman, PCCCT, said this while sharing the future plans of the organisation for the benefit of the people of Jammu.
Prof. Mohtra shared that PCCCT is working on a project of social service, under which it plans to set up "Elderly Studio" for the benefit of the aged people, whose children have gone out of country for education and job purposes an they are feeling lonely at the stage of life when a support is necessary in day to day activities. He shared that the planned "Elderly Studio" will have facilities equal to three-star accommodation, besides a Yoga centre, meeting hall, 24/7 dispensary, and three-time meals as per the requirement of the aged persons. Their proper care will be taken with commitment and honesty.
Prof. Mohtra further said that now it has been more than twenty years since the Dogri language wasincluded in the 8th schedule of the Constitution but still it has not achieved the distinction which it deserve. The LG administration should make Dogri compulsory and students from first to onward should have the facility to study Dogri as compulsory subject.
He also expressed gratitude to the people of Jammu for participating in and making the recently held Dogra Legacy Excellence Award-2024 function successful, adding that for the first time in the history of Jammu and Kashmir any event dedicated to Dogra culture got so much appreciation. He said that in this function the prominent Dogras who have contributed in promotion of rich Dogra culture were honoured. Colourful plays depicting Dogra culture were also performed by reputed Dogra artists. Meanwhile, Prof. Mohtra, once again, asked the dogras to devote atleast one day in a weak to Dogra culture by cooking dogra food and wearing dogra dress and motivate others also for the same.
