KATHUA: In preparation for the upcoming electoral process, 94 polling parties were successfully dispatched today for Bani from Government Degree College (GDC) Kathua. This action is part of the meticulous arrangements being made to ensure smooth and transparent conduct of the elections. The deployment was carried out under the supervision of District Election Officer Dr Rakesh Minhas.
The District Election Office coordinated the logistics to guarantee that each team reaches its designated polling station safely and on time. The teams are equipped with necessary election materials, including Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Voter-verified Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) units, to facilitate free and fair voting in the region.
District Election Officer, who was present during the dispatch, expressed confidence in the preparedness of the teams, stating, "All necessary arrangements have been made to ensure a seamless voting process. We are committed to upholding the democratic values by facilitating a transparent and secure election."
Security arrangements have also been put in place to ensure a peaceful election environment. Polling parties were briefed on the standard operating procedures and necessary precautions to be followed during their duty. Personnel from local police and paramilitary forces have been deployed to provide security at polling stations across the constituency.
The polling parties dispatched to Bani to halt at GDC Bani today, and shall be dispatched to their respective Polling stations ( 61 polling parties for Bani and 33 polling parties for Lohai Malhar) on September 30.
The dispatch of polling parties from GDC Billawar for 64-Billawar AC, from GHSS Basohli for 65-Basohli, from GDC Kathua for Jasrota and Kathua(SC) ACs, and from GDC Hiranagar for Hiranagar AC will also be held on September 30.
The elections for the six Assembly Constituencies of Kathua are scheduled for 01 October. The polling parties will remain stationed at their respective locations, ensuring that the electorate can exercise their right to vote without hindrance.
