SRINAGAR: In a significant action against drug-related activities, Police in Kupwara have detained a drug peddler under the PIT-NDPS Act. Police Station Sogam has detained Irfan Ahmad Pir son of Wali Mohammad Pir resident of Wavoora under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (PIT-NDPS) Act. The accused is involved in case FIR No. 28/2021 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act registered at Police Station Sogam. He has been lodged in District Jail Bhadarwah.
This action follows due legal procedures and reiterates the commitment of Police to curb the menace of drug trafficking and abuse in the region.
